I enjoyed LFCC so much that I decided the next event I was going to would be SFCC.

I met Robert Englund, ‘Freddy Krueger’ of ‘A Nightmare of Elm Street’, or if you’re as old as me, ‘Willie’ of ‘V’ and ‘V : The Final Battle’. Being a fan of the movie ‘Aliens’, Michael Biehn, could not be missed.

Colin Baker ‘The Doctor’, and Nicola Bryant Peri’, of ‘Doctor Who’, were there too. Now admitting this maybe a mistake, but I had a teenage crush on ‘Peri’, so meeting Nicola was like a dream. Now Colin’s ‘Doctor’, was ahead of its time. The character was mis-understood, he was harsh, straight to the point, and seemed un-compassionate. After two full series of playing ‘The Doctor’, he was fired and Sylvester McCoy took over the role.

What people forgot was, Colin took over the role and regenerated into his version of ‘The Doctor’, after he was poisoned. His survival from this ordeal was ingrained in his personality after he regenerated. By being harsh, hard and direct, he wasn’t going to let it happen again.

Sheffield is quite away from where I live now, but I used to live there years ago. So I wasn’t too daunted by going there. In fact I was looking forward to it, and visiting some of the places I knew to see how they changed from years ago.

Although, my Multiple Sclerosis Fatigue was evident, using my wheelchair helped with keeping my energy levels up. And making sure l was rested the day before also helped. It meant I had to travel and stay in a hotel the day before.

Decision made, MS be damned, I was going.
